Candy-land: Taste the Rainbow
“Candy-land: Taste the Rainbow”
Sunday, June 22th, Doors Open at 4:00 PM, the Pageant begins at 5:00PM
McMenamin’s Crystal Ballroom
1332 W Burnside St, Portland, OR 97209
Visibility.Education.Celebration.
These three goals - essential to the fulfillment of the Pride Northwest mission - are realized in the Portland Gay Prides Pageant. This magical evening centers the passion, artistry and talents of the contestants, culminating in the crowning of the 2025-26 Pride Family. Pageant categories include: Theme Look, Formal Wear with on stage Q&A by our hosts, and Talent.
Candy Land: Taste the Rainbow” is a fun and colorful theme that celebrates joy, imagination, and being yourself. The rainbow has been an important symbol for the LGBTQ+ community since the 1970s, when it was first used as a Pride flag to show love, hope, and diversity. Just like in Candy Land, where everyone is welcome to go on a sweet adventure, Pride is about making the world a place where everyone can be accepted and free to be who they are. This theme brings together the magic of childhood and the history of the fight for equality in a bright and playful way.

QDoc Film Fest and Pride Northwest Present: IT’S ONLY LIFE AFTER ALL
QDoc Film Fest and Pride Northwest Present the Portland Premiere of the award-winning documentary: IT’S ONLY LIFE AFTER ALL: An intimate look into the lives of one of the most iconic folk-rock bands in America - the Indigo Girls.
Sundance award-winning director Alexandria Bombach (FRAME BY FRAME, ON HER SHOULDERS) brings us into a contemporary conversation with Amy and Emily, alongside 40 years of home movies, raw film archives, and intimate present-day verité in IT’S ONLY LIFE AFTER ALL. With joy, humor, and heart-warming moments, the film subverts the typical music biopic format for the authentic and intimate storytelling for which Bombach’s work is known. As the band continues to prioritize community in a culture that idolizes individualism, IT'S ONLY LIFE AFTER ALL gives the duo the recognition they deserve as musicians, trailblazers, and activists. (Portland, Oregon premiere)
Sunday, July 16 at 7pm at Cinema 21 (616 NW 21st Ave, Portland, OR 97209)
General Admission, $10, $8 seniors and students
