Community Resilience Program
In its role as an intermediary nonprofit organization, Pride Northwest supports and serves as a connector between resources, grassroots initiatives, and advocates, who are working on the ground to address (and meet) community needs. This support includes funding, technical assistance, capacity-building, networking opportunities, and more to support those organizations in maximizing their impact, intentionally working to center the perspectives and efforts of Black, Indigenous and Queer People of Color community organizers. In addition to sponsoring dozens of community events, employing hundreds of LGBTQIA2S+ artists and performers (including during the pandemic shutdown), and providing economic opportunities for dozens of LGBTQIA2S+ makers and artisans.

The Drive was born during the pandemic to support our overall response efforts to the unhoused crisis that went through the roof, including the C3PO shelter project, food and supply distribution and engaging as a founding member of the PDX LGBTQIA2S+ Housing Collaborative. Supplies and donated funds were collected and distributed to people living outside. Having an organized drive allowed us to be more intentional and strategic in visibility and impact. In other words, doing it as a named drive turned it into a campaign that visibility could be focused around.

Stemming from Pride Northwest’s historical support of LGBTQ2SIA+ Senior’s events and gatherings, this initiative began April 2025, in partnership with consultant Max Micozzi. Our work with them resulted in an initial survey, taken by 80+ seniors to ensure that existing programming is accessible to Elders, and that new “Senior-centered” programming is reflective of what the community wants and needs.

The Black Rainbow Initiative aims to establish a vibrant and inclusive community for Black and BIPOC individuals, fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and shared experiences through art and business.

Fiscal Sponsorship
Pride Northwest strongly believes in supporting our community in a number of ways. One way is direct fiscal support for several grassroots organizations around the region. Currently, we use our years of experience and access to resources, to serve as the fiscal sponsor for:
-
The Northwest Gender Alliance is for transgender persons living in the greater Portland OR-Vancouver WA area. Begun in 1980, we provide support and safe gatherings for the transgender community. We also provide education services to the public.
-
Greater Portland Trans Unity is a diverse, non-hierarchical collective of organizers from across the trans spectrum. We organize the annual Portland Trans Pride March and other community-building events and activities.
-
We are Common Fire, a Portland-based mutual aid group.
-
BeautyBoiz is a PNW-based queer artist collective that creates captivating live events and compelling media for the LGBTQ+ community
We are also honored to have been former fiscal sponsors for Bend Pride, Lincoln City Pride, Hood River Pride (Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance), The 2nd Portland Women's March, and Trans Day of Remembrance.
