About

The Gay Prides of Portland Pageant has long been a cornerstone event for the LGBTQ2SIA+ community in Portland, providing both youth and adults a platform to showcase their pride, creativity and individuality.

A Legacy of Dedication

For many years, the pageant was brought to life by The Lovely Suzanne and Maria Peters Lake, whose unwavering commitment ensured that the titles of the Gay Prides of Portland remained a symbol of inclusivity, artistry and Pride. Following the passing of the Lovely Suzanne in 2022, Maria Peters Lake made the courageous decision to pass the torch, ensuring the legacy of the pageant would continue. Pride Northwest is deeply honored to carry forward the legacy of The Gay Prides of Portland.
