Your support Makes Pride Happen!
Pride Northwest is active year round. We depend on community support to, not only make Pride happen, but for a host of other efforts as well!
Gay it forward
Pride Northwest is committed to ensuring that the Portland Pride Waterfront Festival and Parade remains accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. The Portland Pride Festival remains one of the largest donation-based Pride celebrations in the country and, with your help, we aim to keep it that way!
Gay It Forward allows most anyone to support Portland Pride and Pride Northwest by donating one (or more) “gate fee” to help cover that cost for community members who may not be able to pay, and keep Portland Pride accessible for all in our community!
Pride Northwest is Portland Pride
Pride Northwest supports our community year-round! Best known for the annual Portland Pride Waterfront Festival and Parade-one of the largest Pride celebrations on the West Coast-Pride Northwest also works to celebrate and support the whole of the Pacific Northwest’s LGBTQ community year-round. Whether working with decision and policy-makers to improve the safety and livability of the LGBTQ community, supporting other partner organizations like Latinx Pride, the Northwest Gender Alliance, the Pride Collective, the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court, or building community with incarcerated LGBT youth and showcasing the artistic talents of LGBTQ people, our goal is to provide visibility and to celebrate the culture and contributions of our community.
GEORGE T. NICOLA LGBTQ+ HISTORY FELLOWSHIP
The Fellowship honors the untiring work of local historian George T. Nicola, and seeks to uplift LGBTQ+ scholarship, foster public access to LGBTQ+ archives and illuminate the vibrant LGBTQ+ history of the state of Oregon.
Awarded annually, recipients receive a $2,000 stipend to support research which focuses on LGBTQ+ history in Oregon. Awardees also receive mentorship and guidance from community and academic historians around the region.
Awards are announced in January with final projects presented at a public celebration the following October.
