The Spirit of Pride Awards are available for both organizations and individuals. The criteria is as follows:
Criteria for Organizations
Constituency
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to diversity.
- Works to engage under served populations.
Mission
- Committed to end discrimination for GLBTQ Communities.
- Educates both GLBTQ communities and beyond on GLBTQ issues.
- Works to empower GLBTQ Communities.
Capacity/ Longevity
- Provides high quality services for GLBTQ Communities.
- Provided continuing leadership, advocacy or services for the GLBTQ community.
- Maintains a strong and consistent program.
Innovation
- Works to build bridges between communities.
- Develops new and innovate services, programs and solutions for GLBTQ communities.
Criteria for Individuals
Leadership
- Provides leadership for /within GLBTQ communities.
- Takes on leadership roles.
Commitment
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to GLBTQ community.
- Works tirelessly and/or continually to represent GLBTQ interest.
Advocacy, Education, Services, Organizing
- Successfully advocates for GLBTQ communities.
- Works to educate both GLBTQ communities and beyond.
- Initiates high quality programs and services for LGBTIQ communities.
- Works to organize and empower GLBTQ Communities.
Coalition Building
- Works to build coalitions between GLBTQ communities and the broader community.
- Works to build bridges between respective identity groups.
- Works to engage or re-engage populations within the GLBTQ community.
